一般AF镜头可以用在D40上，只是需要手动。好处是很多尼康的中古名镜很便宜。

很多一个不到100美元的中古名镜，光学性能远远好于5－6百美元的新镜头。
摄影的投资主要在镜头上，因为镜头可以用几十年。尼康的新相机能用几乎所有的老镜头，这是有道理的。
