画蛇 has been a long-time friend of mine, and I know that the opposite to what you wrote is true. She just happens to enjoy writing humor pieces, as a pastime or otherwise. For instance, while doing her graduate studies, she wrote a regular humor column for her school's weekly publication.

Don't be so self-righteous, narrow-minded, and judgmental. It was all for a laugh!
