As stars in a team, you will be played physically tight and hard in playoff games. Normally, you will have bad shooting nights; however, if you are just one-dementional you probably end up with 13 points. Just like Yao of 2 or 3 years ago, when his shooting touch is off, he will be passive and pass out shots. But last night, they were both playing hard at defensive end, and they went to free throw lines, they rebounded. That's how great players get it done when needed.
Utah is a very physical team, anyone expects that to be a easy walk over the cake, they should watch more NBA games. Boozer played out of his mind last night, 41-12-6, with 17-30 shooting, but the Rockets still won with 8 points. As bad as they shot, they still managed 98 points. Memet Okur, although didn't contribute much offensively, he did his best defensively against Yao. Yao was clearly bothered and affected by Okur's defense. The Rockets 3 point shooting was disastrous last night, they still pulled the win. To me, those are all positives.
Let's be honest here. Utah is not the Suns, who's going to score 110 in a game. Boozer is no MJ, 41-12-6 on high 50% shooting is not something he can repeat easily. When you look closely, most of the shots Boozer made were tough tough fall away jumpers, with Yao Ming's hand in his face. Memet did a great job to limit Yao's shooting to 9-24. How much better do you expect Memet to play defense?
Sure, Yao could be more determined in finishing the basket stronger, and Tracy should be more controlled with some of those quick jumpers. But, 31-10-5, and 27-9, they can be better, even much better. How scary that is? How encouraging that is, if you are a Rockets fan, a Yao Ming fan, or a Tmac fan? I just don't see Utah's chance at all in this series, and I certainly don't understand some of the negatives around the team and players.
Winning is never about playing perfectly, because you will never be. Winning is about your ability to figure out a way to beat your opponents, despite all the adversaries.
