18-200mm/f2.8 Sigma or Tamron?

May I get a suggestion?
If I would like to get a lens of 18-200MM/f2.8 for Canon Rebel XTi, should I buy Sigma or Tamron? Which one is better? My prior concern is the compatibility. I don't want to damage the camera. Please advise. Thanks!
