You are talking two issues

1) 对音乐的感受力: this is not the same as quality of music composition. The person who has a strong ability to be moved by music does not mean he is a great composer. There is not a great composer in China, 古代 or 现代 whose composition has touched millions of people century after century or cross the culture boundary.

The form of music, symphony or not, is not important. Whether the essence of that music can touch people cross the time and culture limit is the final judgment. Of the 5000 yr history, how many pieces can fall into this category?

Why can Chinese be moved by western symphony, but westerners or other Asians not moved by Chinese music?

2) Quality of 现代音乐: we all agree it is bad. NO argument here.
