are experts of the fields, yet they can't tell if the participants had really put effort into the research. I would say the process itself needs to be improved if it allows a 10th grader's research project with fingerprints of a phd work to win any prizes.
Life is unfair. Kids needs to learn how to compete againt those who have unfair advantage.
