i should discipline my child since that is purely my personal life as long as it is not illegal.

BTW, spank does not necessarily = non-positive, just like non-spank does NOT necessarily =positive, it all depends on how your child interacts with and responds to your ways of discipline. And our children's behavior as well as those feedback from his/her life around her/him will tell us all, after all.
