Yes, Chicago was a great school and is still a great one. But not with HYP level. What they are looking for are smart students from HYP. Wharton is a special case. Percentage wise, Chicago just doesn't have the students with same level of intelligence. Not only Y, even other ivies like Dartmouth, Columbia have better chance than Chicago getting into to the field. This fact is contradictory to what people believe that Chicago has top-class programs in econ, etc.
Chicago? Old thinking!
