why藤校?

why藤校? Cost too much and, still your kids may not find a job afterwards. I know a few kids who are from good schools, graduated but staying with their parents now for a few years. Had they gone through a worse college, at least you could save some money. These are kids with good grades in high school - not as good as your kids but pretty close.

More important thing is a major. With a good major one can land a job easily. It'd be even better if your kids are actually interested in these majors. They will be willing to work harder and enjoying doing it. But that's hard since everyone has different interests.

The most important is to teach your kids to work hard at what they are interested in, or what is important for them (for example, if what they are interested in doesn't pay, they need to be good at what can pay for their hobbies), so that they are very good at it. When your kid have a strong major that pays, whether he/she like it or not, he/she is well supported to pursue what they want later. I have two friends worked in software for two years, after company went IPO they went on learning how to be an actor. Anyway, they are all set for they lives in mid 30s.

It's very difficult to teach your kids to plan their life - realizing what's coming and prepare for it, and balance fun and job. Maturity is perhaps the key. Everyone wants to be the president, but we only have one every 4 or 8 years. But all of us still needs to make a living. Any job is better than no job. Make your kids responsible for something starting very young age, so that they can be reliable, trustable, confident and successful.
