You are right, but I would

love to say that we Chinese American parents do pay too much attention to academic, but ignore the importance of the rest, which may be even more important. It is great to go to a great university. But I don't believe that it is good or smart for kids to go to a very good university with many hard pressures of economic, culture, social activities and even academic. It is no good for kids to go to a college without a social life at school. A social life also requires money, time and energy. A mental and physical healthy kid or youth with great sociabilities is more than anything else including academic.
