女儿上大学之前来谈几点报考体会

本来早该来报告分享一下的的（三月份发帖时承诺了的哈），比较忙也是一原因一直拖了下来。还有就是怕有显摆之嫌，再一想嫌就嫌吧，再不来女儿就进大学了呵呵。

先说最后结果，女儿决定去Wharton了。说起今年报考及录取情况，估计大家也有所耳闻，非常异常。平均报考的学校多估计是一个原因，其他原因不明。女儿的Crenditial算比较强吧，SAT I 2340，10门AP（在她学校算很多了）。其他在体育，音乐，美术上尽管没有州以上大奖，但在学校和local community也是佼佼者，最后还获得National Scholar的2500美元奖学金。

回想起来，她的报考选择，准备等等有不少可以改进的地方，当然我这个当爸的没有投入多少时间也是原因。结果她报考的第一志愿Yale在defer后被拒，也被几个top10的学校waitlisted。简单说来有以下几点教训和体会：

1. Assay要足够重视，下足够的功夫写，我女儿好几个学校在deadline之前2小时才完成。
2. 所选AP与报考专业要尽量consistent。她没有选一门报考专业的AP后来认识到是一个问题。
3. 尽量报early decision， 以Penn （Wharton too）为例， early有很大优势，她报的是regular，要tough得多。
