Yes, but later we felt it might be wise even to sacrifice a little bit by applying early to #2 or #3 schools. As it is generally harder to get into a good school (top 10) in the regular round; very few students, if there are any,can say they are guaranteed to get into top few schools before actually trying, so by applying to these few top schools and giving up the chance for applying early to #2 or #3 (like my daughter applying to Yale SCEA), the risk is that you may end up going nowhere.
