If your kid doesn't get into ivy schools, you are doing this for

nothing. Deferred amount shows in one of the boxes in W-2 form. If you are able to pay for your kids tuition you should pay, doing this kind of thing to get FA is not decent. What is the reason to get into top schools? Not because they are just top schools, right. I am sure you want your kids to be a honest person in life, so set an example for them. People in this forum talk a lot how to get their kids to private schools to get the best education, but don't forget that decency is most important character.
