Friend-1: MS in 2000, worked for 5+ companies already (including layoff), current salary is around US$80K/year. FYI - he just got layoff again in Feb,2008.

Friend-2: MS in 2000, BS in China 1997, hardware/physical electronics background, find permanent job in year 2004 (she got layoff during 2003-2003, so take contract jobs only).

I don't believe 硅谷工程师 nowadays can get US$120k+ per year. 硕士学历，十年（以上）经验.
