And in fact it is one of the reasons that I am so eagerly to buy a rental property. The mortgage is entirely deductible, I have verified with my accountant and Turbo Tax as well. The property tax is not deductible, but can be used to offset the rental income, that's why I can the rental income tax free (after all the offset, depreciation, property tax, insurance, etc.)
