The key is not whether you use PM or not, but how you follow the operating procedure of LLC. A lawyer will tell you for a single member LLC, it is hard for owner always to do things strictly by the book. Use a PM helps because PM forces the owner to do things properly. But the ultimate test of whether LLC can protect you is whether the owner strictly following LLC's operating agreement.
