潜水投坛良久,拜读了云起千百度和各位大师的帖子,受益颇多。很激动有机会冒泡,贡献 my 2 cents.
I use Quickbooks Enterprise Retail edition for retail business and
also use the same version 设定为一个新公司 for rental real estate.(QBMenu/File/New Company).

I had worked at several CPA firms for several years. Regarding
depreciation, I found Excel to be 灵活又好用. Because I’ve seen many clients using
Accounting Software for bookkeeping and then using another software to track
depreciation, such as Book Depreciation/Tax Depreciation/State Depreciation,
etc.(For example. In 2012, Federal allowed 100% bonus depreciation, however,
Some States did not allow the 100% bonus depreciation, so needed Addback when
calculating the State return.) For clients with complicated business, the firms
like to use Excel schedules to double-check client’s depr. Calculation and
prepare adjustments. So I liked using Excel to prepare the depreciation
schedule for Retail and rental RE business then did journal entries in QB to
book the Depr. Expense.
