Do you do title search before court auction

请教各位大拿，如果你想要在court bid a house，do you do title search in advance？我的困惑在于，如果做的话，你可能要做很多，寄希望于你能拿到其中的一个。如果不做，是不是风险太大？我们这儿会列出房子所欠的本金。但我猜想那只是第一个lien的principal。是否有多个lien还是无从知道。我的理解正确吗？
