Officially I heard it does not factor into the EFC calculations but in practice, I am not sure. My problem is that my W2 box 5 is very large, and I must submit my W2 for college financial aid assessments.
I was a poor kid growing up in China and hate to ask my wife to work in order to pay for my kids college. It hurts to imagine driving 2 brand new Mercedes Benz E350 into the lake every year for my two kids' education while others are getting it for free.
