You are not helping owner paying tax, you are buying the forclosed propertry. Everything is samein tax forclosure as what is in mortgage forclosure process except tax forclosure previous owner has the right to redeem the property. In TX, the period is 2 years. If the owner redeems the property in first year, you get back your cost plus the 25% interest, if he redeems in second year you get back your cost plus 50% interest. After two year, no redeem.
