is only a normal transition period like that in the 80s, US is waiting for new innovative cycles. China is not going to be like Japan, dead for 20 years. China will tank for some time, but it has much more power to come out stronger than ever. During this period, US will benefit from China's rise. Chinese upper leadership is RIGHT. US and China are indeed on a same boat.
