1, for real hard wood flooring with 3/4" thickness, the idea is to have a solid ground. Double taping makes it a floating floor and waste all the good intension.

2, Since it is not nailer pushed, the wood must be very straight, hence you probably have to go with man made materials, not natural wood.

3, Overall, the thickness is barely the floor material plus a pad, comparing to 3/4" subfloor + 3/4" hardwood floor, it will be nothing real.

4, the glue may not last long, and will waste all the good materials.

Sure, for rental homes, you might just go with it. For better flooring, don't be fooled by it. It is more expensive than floating yet much less durable than nailing. Glue down is messy and not recommended anyway.
