把bedroom 变小in San Jose, CA 需permit 吗？

一进大门就撞墙，感觉很堵。这墙是一bedroom closet的墙。没碰到水电。我想往里挪closet， 这样，bedroom的size就小了. 是否要permit？谢谢！
