赌钱准赢的trick

In most of the casinos, the chance of win is slightly favoring the "庄家", say 55% vs 45% individual.  With this edge, if high enough volume are played, the 庄家 will make lot of money.  After all,  nobody can beat the statistics.

I read a trick that will guareentee win eventually, it goes like this:

1.  Bet 1 doller,

2a. if win, then bet another dollar again in next game, and repeat from step 1.

2b. If lose, bet 2 dollars.

3a. If win $2, now you have profit of $1, start from step 1 again.

3b. If you lose, bet $4,

4a, if you win $4,  now you have profit of $1, start from step 1 again.

4b. If you lose, bet $8,

and so on,untill you win one bet.

The idea is that you will always win $1 if you keep betting.  You may lose, but for a straight lose in a row (say > 8 times) are really slim. 

I feel something wrong withe the trick, but can not figure out what is wrong.

Any idea?
