我要付这笔钱么？

要搬家，出租现在住的房子，和一个potential的房客正在谈。 他们有意8月底搬进来，我们的新房子那时close,我们计划9月第一个星期搬走，8号起租。房客说，这样他们要先住hotel,希望我们compensate $1000的hotel钱。我们还没有任何纸面上的合约，我就觉得我也没答应你8月底租后又变卦，不应该我来买帐。大家觉得呢？这种情况大家怎么处理？他们这样的要求合理么？不想放弃，因为房租不低，晚租出去一个月也损失不小。
