请问： 如何做short?

请问： 如何做short? 比如short 一只股票？我在Scottrade有个margin 的账户，可以从账户借钱买股票，那么可以用来short么？ 还是short需要特定的账户？

另外，总听别人说哪只股票被short heavily， 快顶不住了等等. 这是怎么知道的？从什么地方能查到某只股票被short得很严重, 或者被long的很严重?有什么具体的数据么？
