疑问: 出租房的楼梯

大家出租房的楼梯用什么材料？地毯？硬木？or other material?

想去掉楼梯上的地毯。contractor 估价$100/step, 包括---去地毯，钉硬木板，刷清漆。三层townhouse,很多的台阶，这个价钱。。。。你懂的。。。。

地毯一掀， 下面已经是solid wood surface, 不明白为什么还要再钉一层木板，直接打磨上漆不是更快？？？
