no matter whereyou go, do not walk in bank to do so b/c you may end up open an IRA acct w/ full service broker.  this happens to Wells Farge and Chase, etc..  

just open an acct w/ discount brokerages like Vanguard, Fidelit, E*Trade, TD, Scottrade.... whatever, you name it.

if you do have to open an IRA acct with WFC, say you want to take advantage of PMA in order to trade stock for free, you really need to choose "Wells Fargo Advisors".
