I think at this point, you need to call your insurance company, file incident report, in case they file against you. in insurance company's eye, they want to defend you if any liability issue arise, because if you lost, they have to pick up the tap. I had a case where I kick tenant out, they moved but left all the stuff behind, month later they sue me for improper disposal of personal property, so my insurance defended me, and of course, all the stuff were junk, didn't cost me a dime.
