真抱歉哈，让你浪费不少脑细胞

首先说明一下哈，我现在不是专业的，就是自己在玩这些数字的时候，多留了一些心得出的一点体会，是不是正确的，还很难说。

29行的ememption，是从28行减下去的，right！ 

We are talking about the AMT marginal tax rate, right?

如果没有这个29行的exemption，AMT 就两个rate，26和28.我的point是这两个rate是表面的。

当有这个exemption的时候，以married filing jointly为例：

如果alternative mimnimum taxable income (line 28) 超过15万，exemption 开始phase out。

具体的计算在instruction page 8，为避免你再浪费脑细胞，我就做一次搬运工算了.

Exemption Worksheet - line 29:

1. Enter: $74,450      1._______

2. Enter your alternative minimum taxable income(AMTI) from Form 6251, line 28

                       2._______

3. Enter; $150,000 if married filing jointly 

                       3._______

4. Subtract line 3 from line 2. If zero or less, enter 0

                       4._______

5. Multiply line 4 by 25% (.25)

                       5.________

6. Subtract line 5 from line 1. If zero or less, enter 0. 

                       6.________

7. Minimum exemption amount for certain children under age 24

8. Enter your earned income, if any (see instructions)

9. Add lines 7 and 8 (line 7 through 9 is for children under age 24 or whatever)

10. Enter the smaller of line 6 or line 9 here and on Form 6251, line 29, and go to Form 6251, line 30. 

做两个最简单的计算，line 28 分别为150K和200K：

line 28 为150k的时候，没有phase out， line 31的税是：(150,000-74,450)*26%=$19,643.

line 28 为200K的时候，line 29 = 74,450-（200，000-150,000)*25%=61,950.

line 31 税 =（200，000-61，950）×26% = $35893。

line 28 200k 中超过150k的税率 = （35983-19643）/（200，000-150，000）=32.5%。

后面的如果你有兴趣，也不怕浪费脑细胞的话，可以算算到底什么时候从32.5%跳到35%。从35%回到28%的数字就是你算出来的那个44万什么的，也就是当74，450彻底被phase out的时候。

最后说明一下，这里没有考虑dividen income或者long term capital gain之类的。
