We appreciate the enthusiasm surrounding the full-tuition Horace Mann Fellowship awards. Below is a list of frequently asked questions and their answers. FAQs:

How long will these Fellowships be available?
Students admitted to Antioch College for the Fall of 2012, 2013 and 2014 will receive this full-tuition award for their four years at the College. We will determine awarding policies at a later time for years 2015 and beyond.

What is the application deadline?
-For high school seniors graduating this year, the application deadline is Feb. 15.
-For high school juniors and sophomores, application deadlines will be announced at a later date.

Can transfer students apply for the Horace Mann Fellowship?
Yes. Transfer applicants and their credits from other institutions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Can adult-learners (non-traditional students) apply?
All students are welcome to apply. Ours is a traditional residential liberal arts program, with no online component. So each student needs to assess whether that is the best fit for them.

Is this open to first time adult students?

Are out-of-state students eligible?
Out of state students are encouraged to apply. The majority of our students are from outside Ohio.

Can international students apply?
We are not accepting applications for admission from international students at this time. We hope to start enrolling international students for the Fall term of 2013.

Does Antioch College accept non-U.S. citizens?
US citizens and legal permanent residents are eligible to apply for admission. If the applicant's instruction was in a language other than English, then we require that students send us their TOEFL scores as part of the application process.

Can those with a bachelor’s degree apply?
No. The HMF awards are for those without a bachelor’s degree.

Can those with a GED apply?
Students with GEDs are eligible to apply for admission. As Antioch College is a test-optional school, SAT scores are not required.

Do you have graduate programs?
No. Antioch College is an undergraduate, liberal arts institution that awards the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees.

Do you have online classes?
Currently, we do not offer any online classes. Our experience is a traditional, residential liberal arts setting on our scenic campus in Southwest Ohio, in the city of Yellow Springs.

Does the campus have family housing for the untraditional students?
Currently, we offer double-room occupancy on campus. Students electing to live off campus will need to apply for a residency waiver with our Office of Community Life.

What majors do you offer?
Students design individualized majors in 11 concentration areas. The areas include: Media arts, performing arts, studio arts, literature, history, philosophy, anthropology, social psychology, political economy, environmental science, health sciences. We have language minors in Spanish, French and Japanese. For more information, email admission@antiochcollege.org. Thanks!

Is financial aid available for room and board costs?
Financial aid may be available for students with demonstrated financial need.

How many new students will be admitted?
Every student admitted to Antioch College will receive the fellowship. In reviewing the application, we will look for the right combination of academic ability, willingness to work hard and contribute to our community, and exhibit grit and determination to solve pressing challenges in our world.

Is the application binding, meaning I have to attend if I get accepted?
Our application is non-binding. Our Regular Decision deadline is coming up on February 15 and we notify you of our decision on March 15. Best of luck!

Do you have an ROTC program?
We do not have an ROTC program at this time.

Do you accept the GI Bill?
Not at this time.

Do you accept the Common Application?
We are not on the Common App this year, but our own online application is very similar: https://apply.antiochcollege.org/.

Are standardized test scores required?
We are a test-optional school and look at many factors when assessing an applicant's ability to thrive at Antioch College. While you are welcome to submit ACT or SAT scores, you are not required to do so.

What is the average amount for room and board?
About $8,600. Students with demonstrated financial need may qualify for financial assistance to offset room and board costs.

I submitted my online application. Now what?
