Bought badminton women shoes with wrong size

I bought a pair badminton women shoes from Direct Sports, but they are only showing size in UK, which I thought it would be same as US unit, when I got order 6.5, it came as 8.5 in US, talked to them through email, they insistant that I have to pay the postage costs. Any suggestions from anyone?
