垄断 is both good or bad

It is a way of enforcing industry standards - it is particularly important in the IT world.

A standard can significantly reduce development and training costs across industries.

It seems ironic, but it can actually reduce cost too, because of the economy of scale.

In retrospect, Wintel does the world more "good" than "bad".
