Watch for the mortgage deduction. Some proposal want to remove this item from itemized deduction. It would hurt mid-class again, either less tax benefit, or will decrease house price.

 

However, if you sell your house and retire to a low-price area, your house money is still yours. We have to save more on our retirement account to match your equity on your house.
