Does your hub need good credit to find a job? (any financial related jobs could require good credit.)
If not, then stop mortgage payment and preserve cash as much as possible. Get as much income as possible even working as a waiter or delivery boy.
Negociate with bank for a short sale.
If not sell, then wait for forclosure from bank. Try to negotial as much as possible for loan modification.
Collect any mistakes from bank. That could help you to prolong the foreclosure process. You have 6 months to a year. 2 years if you are lucky.
