The lease started mid-January but the tenant did not even move in after 3 weeks, which I did not know. What's worse is that the tenant did not turn on the heating, therefore the water pipe bursted in the extremely cold days last week. I am not even sure if it's covered by my insurance, since insurance agent could not be contacted over the weekend to ask for the details. This was apparently the tenant's negligence and breach of lease by not taking care of my property during the lease term, and they did not inform me that they did not move in yet, otherwise I would have checked out to make sure heating was on. Huge loss... Sigh... Not sure what to do now to fix the mess.
