How to deal with this short sale

Just got an email from the agent. I think it may be a trick. Any suggestion? Thanks.

 

So I received an email this morning. The bank knows that another offer came in and wants to know if you want to increase your offer. As I do not know what exactly the other offer is, I don’t think its too much higher then yours. Would you like to increase it by a little or maybe we do an addendum saying that we increase our offer to be $1000 over the second offer to ensure first place. Like I said, I don’t think the other offer is much higher.
