Question regarding borrowing money

A friend is a single mom, and she has own small business. Due to financial crisis, her business went out of broke. She almost run out of money to pay her living. In this kind of situations, what are the possible ways for her to borrow some money while she is trying to recover her biz or find new jobs:
- can she borrow home equity loan without a regular income?
- can she borrow against credit card?
- Any other?

( If you were her friend, would you want to lend her money if she asks you?)
