Des Moines is a midwestern city, large appreciation should not be expected for the general market. Couple of reasons for that: cold weather, boring place, large amount of land, relative small population, and not a scientific center, industry land, transportation hub, or high-tech hotbed.

There are a whole bunch of people got foreclosures. So, it's not the worst.
