In response to alleged circumvention of earlier tariffs on Chinese solar panel imports, the US government has imposed significant tariffs on solar products from Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia. These tariffs, reaching as high as 3,521% for some companies, are intended to protect US solar manufacturers from what US officials claim are unfairly traded imports.
