I am paying more than $9k AMT this year. It's actually less than last year and year before.
I actually enjoyed some of the deductibles this year, property tax and state tax, because a large income incurred last year.
And this is why AMT is non-sense -- you pay less AMT if your income is higher, since your deductibles kick in to offset it.
I am expecting more AMT for 2010, even though the income will be much less this year. (at least 50% less)
