低价出租房可以申请减少物业税

Just a friendly reminder.

For those who bought rentals recently, the purchase price is likely much below the assessment. At least some jurisdictions allow owners to appeal the assessment based on the most recent purchase price, thus reducing the property tax.

Each jurisdiction should have a process for owners to appeal the assessment. Since the property tax is collected at the state/county level, there are possibly many variations in how to appeal the assessment. However, if the purchase price is significantly below assessment, it might be well worth of the effort for the owner. The tax saving would directly improve the operating income.
