as you can buy/trade with $1k minimum while TD can only buy, but no trade (if you want to buy exisiting or sell before maturity). The only good feature on TD is you can buy with $100 minimum. TD/Fido account opening is similar (Fido may be a bit easier) while you migh need bank signiture to unlock your TD account if no use for long or other issues (it's a government website).
