Stock Investment -- GE

Want to inquire about the collective wisdom of the investors here and hear your opinion on this stock -- GE. My question is rather predictable: is GE a good stock to buy now?

I am contemplating on buying some GE shares for the following reasons:
(1) Someone told me this is a good company to own. I know this is mere hearsay, but this someone was very persuasive. He believes that GE is leading the next wave of green-revolution and the company will really take off in a few years.
(2) Warrent Buffett invested in GE last year. His price was about $22-23 a share (kind of. it's complicated). Now, GE is still trading at about $13 today. If you look at another deal that Buffett made at the time he invested in GE (the GS deal), it seems that there's a lot of room for GE's price to grow...
