Tesla and Amazon.com (AMZN) are considered consumer discretionary stocks. And Alphabet (GOOGL) and Facebook (FB) are in the communications services sector.

Not one of these four pivotal stocks are found in the giant $52.8 billion-in-assets Vanguard Information Technology ETF (VGT).
