换air filter 求解惑

家里因为开AC时闻到异味要换filter. 机器上写着replacement size 20x25只有长和宽，没有高度。拆了旧的量一下是20 x24 7/8 x4 3/8，高度应该在4.5到5英寸之间。

Home Depot只有20x25x1卖。长和宽都没有问题，高度只有1英寸的。Home depot工作的人说可以把几个1英寸的叠到需要的厚度就可以了，如果有缝隙还可以用tape封起来。

我们是第一次更换没有经验，请大侠们解惑一下。先谢谢各位。
