HOA members are elected by home owners, but that doesn't mea

mean there are elections since normally very hard to reach the quorum.  The owners either don't have time or can't care less.  There are no monetary benefits for being on the board, other than being able to make decisions.  Sometimes the members will remain on board for long time until quitting, or being voted out.  You can campaign to be elected as one, but for decisions, it's only one vote.  It's a thankless "job" without pay, only a service to all home owners.
