Hello, everyone, do you have any experience with buying land via bidding on the internet? Is it safe? What should we pay attention?
I found a land in North Carolina. The seller(company) said they got the land on the county auction.
I found Notice of tax foreclosure sale (the county vs heirs of someone) on this land at the county courthouse; also found the Commissioner's deed for the sale to the company(seller).
The strange thing is, per the county tax administration, the owner for the land is someone's heirs. I called the tax administration, that person told me all tax for this land were paid, and this land was not foreclosed.
I contacted the seller, who said they would mail a quick deed (quick title) after I pay them via cashier's check or cash. No title insurance. another odd is the company address is the seller's home.
another odd is the seller seemed paid more than what I bidded (the sale was "no reserve auction").
What do you think? What should I do? I greatly, greatly appreciate it.
