买房贷款tax return redact

不时在本版看到夫妻俩各自贷款买多个住房，请问这样的情况在申请贷款时可以把tax return (joint filing)上配偶的敏感信息（SSN, 生日等）遮掉吗？想来lender 本来也不需要配偶的信息，同时这样还可以保护配偶的privacy。请教大家，谢谢了！
