My friend recently meet the financial crisis, and want to give up a property, a LA agent called him to introduce a program to him, saying that they can call the bank to lower his mortgage by reduce his principal. basically start a short sale with the bank, and buy back from the bank with the agent help. The agent have private investor will lend to my friends upto 65% of current market value. 12% Interest only loan for one year. The Title will not changed. The agent will charge $1,000 in front.
My question is, has anyone heard about this? Is this real? is it legal?
